The UN's 3-Ring Circus 21 September 2011
VISION Members Take Part in Rally at the UN
An enthusiastic group from Christians and Jews United for Israel (CJUI) and NH4Israel-VISION joined together and traveled from Boston to Dag Hammarskjold Square at the United Nations in New York City on Wednesday for the Anti-Durban III Rally.
Durban III was meant to help eradicate racism and address human rights issues but has become a forum to demonize and isolate only Israel. Of 192 countries, only Israel has been singled out for condemnation. Hence, well over a dozen countries has boycotted Durban including Canada, the United States, France, Italy,
Great Britain, Austria, Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
The Stand With Us organization has dubbed the conference "The Durban 3-Ring Circus, The Greatest Farce on Earth, so Karen Weinstein of Salem, Linda McGrath of Hampstead and Kathleen Cobble of Merrimack dressed up as clowns depicting the despotic racist leaders of the Middle East: Palestinian leader Abbas, Saudi King Abdullah and Iranian President Ahmadinjad. They carried a sign that read: "So...Who is the Racist?"
Among the many passionate speakers supporting Israel was Simon Dang, a former slave from Sudan, who at the age of 9 was abducted and given to an Arab family as a gift. His message was that there are many apartheid countries where slavery still exists but that Israel is not one of them. That Israel is a wonderful, multiethnic country where religious pluralism and freedom are enjoyed by all citizens.
As the rally concluded, the energized crowd was inspired to return home and herald the truth about Israel, "becoming the shofar."

NH4Israel hosts The David Project
On December 7th, NH4Israel presented Kelly Ward from The David Project (www.thedavidproject.org) to fifty people at the Jewish Federation. People of various faiths, political backgrounds, ages and knowledge were introduced to the current climate of anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism on college campuses today. Ms. Ward, who received her masters degree from Brandeis University in Judaic and Near East Studies, explained how Israel Aparteid Week occured at her alma mater and dozens of other colleges. She was joined by the Director of Education for The David Project and, together, the evening proved invaluable for those attending the session who are interested in combatting this dangerous trend across the USA. NH4Israel has provided Israel-oriented educational content on a statewide basis since 2006 and encourages all members of the Federation and at-large Jewish community to attend these free informative events. Food is always provided!

Am I the Only One Troubled by Cairo Street Scenes?
For days now, the mainstream and leftstream media have been telling us that the Muslim Brotherhood is not dangerous, not radically Islamist—but that even if they are Islamist that they are popular amongst the people. Western leftists view the Muslim Brothers as engaged in a Hamas-like form of soup kitchen social work/theocratic totalitarianism, but who nevertheless have earned the right to be democratically voted into power by the people.

First, view these photos of Cairo University graduates in 1959, 1978, 1995, and 2004. Clearly, there is a progression—a regression really, in terms of women's rights. Former feminist gains have, increasingly, been washed away.
As you can see, the female graduates in 1959 and 1978 had bare arms, wore short sleeved blouses, dresses, or pants, and were both bare-faced and bare-headed. By 1995, we see a smattering of headscarves—and by 2004 we see a plurality of female university graduates in serious hijab: Tight, and draping the shoulders.
Now, let's look at the recent Cairo uprising photos through my eyes. No one has, as yet, commented upon the photos that they have chosen to run.
Ore Ayah Dagan - Shlicha (Emissary) Jewish Federation of New Hampshire
“Here” is my home. “Here” is in Israel. And last month my land, my home, was on fire. And I am so far away. Within 82 hours, 43 people died, and thousands of acres of land were destroyed. Also, 250 homes were damaged and 75 were completely destroyed. We all watched the our sister region Hof Hacarmel, praying for them, praying for the rain that will come and help turn the fire off.
Jewish people are strong people and a strong community. In a time of need we all come together, and each one of us gives what he or she can. One person offered his farm for the animals from the area of the fire. Others came to help the fire department fight the fire. Others opened their homes for the people who were evacuated. The world could not sit still either. Different countries sent troops and helicopters. Even the Palestinians sent three troops of fire fighters. And now, that the fire is over, we think of all 219 people who have no home, who will need to start over, and all the amazing forest that is no longer there, and we think - there must be something we can do!
The first instinct is -- let’s pray for rain and let’s plant as many trees as we can. The truth is that we need to wait a year before we do that. Nature has this great way of healing itself, if we let it. Too much rain will wash away all the seeds that we plant in the ground and will not enable new plants to grow. Planting new trees will not allow the old ones that were not completely burned to grow back. If we let them -- they will grow faster and stronger.
I was so happy and proud to see how without wasting any time, our Jewish Federation found various meaningful ways to help. And now, when we plan our next trip to Israel, we can add one or two days to go to Hof Hacarmel, support the local businesses and artists, and maybe help re-build. Our friends there will be so happy to meet us and show some good Israeli hospitality.
I wish them all strength and happier days. If you are looking for ways to help, or if you have any questions about the fire or anything else about Israel, please feel free to contact me at Israeli@jewishnh.org.

Defenders of Israel, even those critical of some of Israel's policies, are banned from speaking at universities, are attacked personally by the hard left media and are treated as pariahs by their academic colleagues.
It is against this sad and increasingly dangerous background that one must evaluate Glenn Beck's visit to Israel. I disagree with much of Beck's politics and with virtually all of his conspiracy theorizing. Yet I admire his courage in putting his body in the line of fire. I believe him when he says:
If the world goes down the road of dehumanizing Jews again, "then count me a Jew and come for me first."
At a time when old friends and allies who should be supporting the Jewish state are abandoning it in droves, Beck's willingness to stand up for Israel must be accepted with gratitude. I, for one, do not question his motives. I believe they are genuine. One need not accept all of Beck's positions on Israel - and I certainly do not—in order to agree with him that support of Israel is one of the great moral issues of the 21st Century.
