About NH4Israel.org - VISION
Family
NH4Israel.org is also better known by the title - "VISION" - Voice of ISrael Initiative Of New Hampshire.
We began in June 2006. Our mission is to educate the NH community about issues relating to Israel and the Middle East.
NH4Israel.org was formed in response to growing anti-Israel activity in NH.
We work with other like minded groups including the David Project, StandWithUs, CJUI, CUFI,
Israel is Real and the Jewish Federation of New Hampshire (click on this link to view more groups).
We educate interested groups by making videos available for presentations and providing one or more NH4Israel.org members to lead a discussion or answer questions.
We have written and continue to write letters to the editor of newspapers and public officials.
We participate where and when we can to inform people of the facts and distortions of media coverage of Israel.
We are centrist. NH4Israel.org members come from across the political spectrum, from all age groups, and religious denominations. We do not advocate any particular political position, or any preferred solution to Israel's current situation. What we all share is a love for the State of Israel and a desire that she be able to live in a lasting and secure peace with her neighbors.
Not only are we a mixed group but we also have several Israeli members - who have made aliyah (immigration to Israel) or were born there and visiting or living temporarily in the States. They speak from experience - not just from what we hear and read in the media. There nothing more moving and uplifting then to hear a Jewish person tell their personal stories of what is like to "finally come Home!"
Jewish Law (halakcha) asserts that if a person looses an item through an act of aggression and never gives up hope of recovering it, neither he nor the one who stole the article can consecrate it for religious use: the one who pilfered the item because it is not his; the owner because he does not have it in his possession. Since the Jewish people were stripped of their land by violence, they never gave up hope of reclaiming it. Foreign occupation was deemed a transitory phenomenon, while the Jewish people had an eternal link to the land. (kiddushin, 52b).
Our steering committee meets at the Jewish Federation of New Hampshire. You are welcome to join us. We also need people who will work with us in their own synagogue, church, schools, and/or the larger community to motivate and educate congregants and citizens to understand and support Israel.
WE NEED YOU to help spread the message about Israel's struggle for peace. You can have as little or as much involvement as you want. Please e-mail us at NH4Israel.org.
Shalom
